| There are three types of standards in this section. Professional Standards have been established for North Carolina Media Coordinators and Technology Facilitators and are used in the evaluation of these professionals. The Information and Technology Essential Standards, implemented during the 2011-2012 school year, replaced the Technology/Computer Skills and the Information Skills Standard Course of Study. The American Association of School Librarians and the International Society for Technology in Education Standards are voluntary standards published by respective professional organizations include student, professional and administrator standards organizations.
